While every wedding we photograph is unique, every once and awhile there is one that is extra unique. Without a doubt, this one tops that list for us. When we first met Adriana and Bill, they told us that they had something different planned for their wedding. They started talking about how they wanted something that reflected their personalities and likes, and their wedding would have a strong influence from fantasy such as J.R.R. Tolkien‘s writings. I (Joel) might have started freaking out at this point, because I am a huge Tolkienphile. As in, to the point that my wife often things I am a bit of (i.e. massive) a weirdo. I instantly started nerding out with them, and I knew that somehow….no matter what…we had to shoot this wedding. We were meant to. The wedding was in Chicago at an awesome venue called the Wandering Tree Estate, and you could not have possibly found a more perfect place for what they had planned for the wedding day.
Apart from the amazing theme for the day, Adriana and Bill are just an incredible couple. They are two people who are so comfortable with who they are that it rubs off on everyone around them. You could see it with their friends and family the entire day. When we finally met them in person for their engagement photos, we knew that their wedding was going to be even more special because of how they are as a couple.
