I feel like I (Joel) say this a lot, but it’s hard to not feel like the weddings we do are extra special. I am not saying that other photographers do not have great couples with wonderful friends and families, but all I know is that we always seem to have the best of the best. This wedding was absolutely no exception. I might be a little biased out of the gates because I am lifelong friends with some of the extended family, but even without that, I know that my feelings would be the exact same. We did not get to spend any time with Hannah and Glenn before the wedding because they are living in Los Angeles. In fact, we did not meet Glenn until the wedding day. But even with that fact, we were instantly connected to these two and so excited to share their day with them.
They first met back in 2013 at a Christmas party for the St. Louis Rams. Hannah was a cheerleader, and Glenn was one of the video producers. They danced, talked, flirted and apparently, Glenn even tried unsuccessfully to kiss Hannah (which she cannot remember, as it happens, so maybe he just needed to work on his form). Some time later when work was happening to do videos of the cheerleaders’ personal lives, Glenn volunteered to do a video for Hannah and her family to highlight Kellsie’s Hope…which is the charity foundation that was set up after Hannah’s sister Kellsie passed away from cancer in 2011. While filming, Hannah’s mom was so impressed by Glenn that she told Hannah that she needed to date him. She said she would, but she had no idea if he was even interested (which OBVIOUSLY he was!). She was sure that she liked him, but once he did the Ice Bucket Challenge in support of Kellsie, she knew that she had fallen for him. After a bit more texting together, he finally asked her out…and they were unable to be separated!
Their wedding ceremony was at the historic Old Cathedral , which is such a beautiful place. It was a very moving and touching ceremony which a wonderful message by the priest. From there we did photos on the Arch grounds (while trying to stay as cool as possible in the incredible heat we have been having). The wedding party was so easy and fun to work with…which makes our jobs a breeze. The reception was at Neo on Locust…one of our favorite reception venues. And, of course, we had to take them up to the roof for some amazing photos up there. The entire day was filled with love and joy. It was especially touching to see so many tributes to Kellsie. It definitely was a day where we felt so honored to be there and to be a part of it all. This is a very special couple with amazing friends and families.
Here are some of our favorites from the day. Huge congrats to Hannah and Glenn!!
